Have Your ID And PIN Numbers Ready
To enroll — either online or by phone — you need your Stanford ID number and your personal identification number (PIN).
Your Stanford ID Number is the 8-digit number assigned to you when you were hired as an active employee. If your ID number is more than 8 digits, simply drop the first zero.
To get a replacement ID card, go to the Stanford ID Card Office, or call (650) 498-CARD (498-2273).
Your PIN is the same one you used during last year's Open Enrollment.
Forgot your PIN?
Go to MyBenefits and click on I forgot my PIN. You will be asked a question to confirm your identity, and then given a new temporary PIN to use. Copy and paste the temporary PIN into the enrollment screen, and then follow the directions to set a permanent PIN.
If You Don't Enroll
Active employees who are full-time and fail to enroll during the 31 day period will automatically be enrolled in medical and dental coverage for yourself only. You will also be enrolled for Basic Life Insurance and Long Term Disability. Part-time employees who miss the deadline will receive Basic Life Insurance and Long Term Disability only. Medical and dental coverage will be automatically waived.
You will have an opportunity to make changes to your plans only during Open Enrollment each Fall for the following calendar year, or if you experience a Life Event.
