What's New in 2010

What You Pay

We will continue to offer Dental coverage at no charge in 2010. But the amount you pay for medical and vision coverage will change. See your contribution chart for more information.

Read the letter we included with your newsletter. It talks about why costs change.

Think about your medical plan:

Kaiser Permanente HMO — Prescription Drug Benefit

Kaiser Permanente HMO is lowering the days supply for its prescription drug benefit and Mail-Order Drug Program. For prescriptions filled at a Kaiser pharmacy, you will receive up to a 30-day supply per prescription. For prescriptions filled using the Mail-Order Drug Program, you can receive up to a 100-day supply for two copayments. The copayment amounts charged for generic and brand drugs stay the same.

Mental Health And Substance Abuse Coverage

Coverage for mental health and substance abuse will be provided by the medical plans. The coverage through United Behavioral Health (UBH) will end. If you are seeing a mental health or substance abuse provider through UBH, you will have access to a similar provider network, including the Stanford Clinic practice, through your medical plan (except for Kaiser). However, if your provider is not in your medical plan's network, you will need to decide whether to:

  • Transition to a new provider,
  • Change to a different medical plan that includes your provider, or
  • Continue seeing your provider and pay them privately.

For questions about transition of care, contact UBH at (877) 504-4477 or your medical plan's customer service center. You can find your plan's telephone number on your medical ID card. You can also find information in the Contacts section.

I currently use the Stanford Hospital & Clinics. Can the clinic be accessed as an in-network provider? YesYesYesNo
I don't use the Stanford Hospital & Clinics Can the clinic be accessed as an in-network provider? Contact the medical plan directly. The plan will work with UBH to assist members who need to transition their care to another provider.Kaiser recommends members sign a medical release form from UBH to begin the transfer of UBH records to Kaiser. In-patient cases will be transitioned according to policy.
