When you enroll in one of the medical options, you and your covered dependents are automatically enrolled for mental health and substance abuse benefits through United Behavioral Health (UBH). (Exception: The Blue Shield Deductible PPO has its own mental health and substance abuse program.)
United Behavioral Health
UBH provides access to in-person support and resources for a wide range of concerns, including stress management, eating disorders, alcohol or drug dependency, mental disorders and compulsive behavior. UBH provides in-patient and out-patient care.
To get started, call UBH toll-free, 24 hours/7 days a week. An experienced specialist will discuss your problem and work with you to get the appropriate care or services. All information is confidential. The UBH interactive Web site provides free and confidential access to work/life resources available to Stanford staff and faculty.
For a mental health emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Call UBH within 48 hours after you receive emergency care.
