Stanford provides several options for medical and dental coverage, as well as a vision care plan. If you receive a paycheck, your contributions toward costs are made on a before-tax basis, lowering your taxable income.
Medical Plans
Stanford offers two types of medical plans: Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) and Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). (See Selecting A Medical Plan)

Dental Plans
Stanford offers two Delta Dental plan options that provide coverage for dental care through Delta Dental's network of dentists. You may also see a dentist outside of Delta's network.
Vision Care
Stanford offers vision care that includes coverage for eyeglass and contacts through Vision Service Plan (VSP).
Mental Health & Substance Abuse
When you enroll in one of the medical options, you and your family are automatically covered for mental health and substance abuse care. The Help Center is available to all employees.

Enrolling In Your Plans
You may enroll yourself and your eligible dependents within 31 days of becoming an eligible employee. New coverage elections can be made during Open Enrollment each Fall to be effective January 1 of the following year. Changes can only be made outside the enrollment period if you, or a covered family member, have a life event change.
