Stanford provides several options for medical and dental coverage, as well as a vision care plan. If you receive a paycheck, your contributions toward costs are made on a before-tax basis, lowering your taxable income.
Stanford offers three types of medical plans: Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO), Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) and Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). (See Selecting A Medical Plan)

When you enroll in one of the medical options, you and your family are automatically covered for mental health and substance abuse care. The Stanford Faculty & Staff Help Center is available to all employees.
To make it easier for you to provide medical coverage for your family, we created the Medical Contribution Assistance Program (MCAP). If you qualify, the program pays up to the full employee contribution of the lowest-cost medical plan when you cover a spouse and/or children.
Stanford offers two Delta Dental plan options that provide coverage for dental care through Delta Dental's network of dentists. You may also see a dentist outside of Delta's network.
Stanford offers vision care that includes coverage for eyeglasses and contacts through Vision Service Plan (VSP).

If you enroll in the Blue Shield High-Deductible PPO and are eligible for a personal Health Savings Account (HSA), we offer easy enrollment and the opportunity to contribute via payroll.
